America's Oldest Ice Cream Brand
New Retail Partner: Wegmans
Customer Profile:
MELTKRAFT & Valley
Shepherd Creamery
This month, in an ongoing series
Bassetts Ice Cream is pleased to announce Wegmans as a new retail partner.
Like Bassetts, Wegmans is a family-owned and operated company with a rich
history. Their first store opened in 1916 in Rochester, NY and since then they've
sought to provide customers with the highest quality experience and premium
products. One of those premium products is now Bassetts Ice Cream. These
seven delicious flavors are now available at several Wegmans locations:
Vanilla
Chocolate
Mint Chocolate Chip
featuring our Reading Terminal
Market partners, we are pleased to
turn the spotlight on MeltKraft.
You're probably wondering what
makes Meltkraft grilled cheese
sandwiches so darn delicious.
Well, it starts with the cheese. It is
handmade from grass-fed raw
milk, then cave-aged for 3 to 18
months and it all begins at their
Raspberry Truffle
Valley Shepherd Creamery in Long
Peanut Butter Swirl
Valley, NJ. Meltkraft then adds the
Butterscotch Vanilla
finest bread before grilling their
Guatemalan Ripple
sandwiches to pleasing perfection.
Six southeastern Pennsylvania Wegmans locations, with another store joining in
the distribution in November, are offering America's oldest ice cream brand.

Cream:
Yummy!
In addition to their Reading
Terminal Market location and four
stores in the greater New York City
area, Meltkraft has opened a
Collegeville, Downingtown, Glen Mills (November), King of Prussia, Malvern,
Montgomeryville, and Warrington
Employee Profile:
Chris DiGiuseppe, Temple University Student
and Specialty Cone Maker
While he's only been working at our
Reading Terminal Market store
since May of this year, Chris
DiGiuseppe has made a name for
himself as one of our most
second Philadelphia
location, Rittenhouse Square. Here
they feature hand-spun milkshakes
made with none other than
our World Famous Bassetts Ice
Cream. Imagine a luscious
Bassetts shake alongside a
delicious Meltkraft sandwich and
it's a combo that's hard to beat!
accomplished specialty cone
makers. If you ask Chris what he
enjoys about working at Bassetts,
he'll say, "Not only do I like the
people I'm working with, I'm serving
the best ice cream available and
that makes it the easiest job, ever!"
When Chris isn't making specialty
cones or scooping ice cream, you can find him studying at Temple University,
where he's majoring in Criminal Justice and planning to graduate in 2017. In case
you're wondering, Chris' favorite flavor of Bassetts Ice Cream is pistachio and if he
could add a flavor to our current list, he'd vote for cantaloupe sorbet.

Who Doesn't Love Bassetts
Ice Cream?
French Vanilla Ice Cream. Or maybe you'd prefer a scoop of chocolate ice cream
instead with your Liege Waffle? What's a Liege Waffle, you ask?
The Liege Waffle was originated in the 18th
Century by the chef of the Prince Bishop of
Liege. The Prince Bishop asked to have a
pastry filled with pieces of pearl sugar. The
result was a delicious treat that has been
enjoyed in Belgium for centuries.
Belgian pearl sugar is infused into the buttery
sweet Brioche style dough and when baked in a
special cast iron
waffle maker, it creates a caramelized outer shell with
a soft interior that will tantalize your taste buds and
take your love of waffles to new heights! Combine La
Liegeoise Waffles and Bassetts Ice Cream and it is an
exquisite pairing that can't be matched.
One suggestion from Lucien Eyen, co-founder and
CEO of La Liegeoise Waffles, is the popular Nutty
Nutella Banana Cream Dream with a scoop of Bassetts French Vanilla ice cream
or the Belgian Chocolate Cookie Crumble with Chocolate Ice Cream. Visit La
Liegeoise Waffles at the Cherry Hill (NJ) Mall and treat your tastebuds to a dream

I'm a sucker for good ice cream,
so to me, the price was very
reasonable. I get the kids cone,
which I don't believe is listed, but it
is plenty for me. My favorite flavor
(so far) has been the green tea ice
cream. The servers are always
helpful in giving suggestions and
helping people decide on the size
they want.
Pro Tip: Go during the week to
avoid that massive line that occurs
on summer weekends.
