- Given segment AC and a point B placed
anywhere on segment AC so that it is between
point A and point C, then the length of segment
AC is equal to the sum of the lengths of
segments AB and BC.

Key Details about Segment Addition Postulate
1. Can abbreviate: Seg. Add. Post.
2. There is no such thing as the "Segment
Subtraction Postulate" (If you put that you
are making up reasons, it will be wrong.)
3. The Segment Addition Postulate can only
involve two "small" segments at a time.
(If you need to break up a segment into
more than two pieces you will typically
need to use Seg. Add. Post. several times
along with Substitution.)
Definition of Midpoint:
-A point, on a segment, that divides
the segment into two congruent parts.
