Please Help!!
Lowest Projected Number of Sub-Cellular Travelers
The Eukaryotic Board of Tourism needs YOUR help!
You are receiving this notice since you are the owner of a unique, highly
renowned, sub-cellular travel destination and the Eukaryotic Board of Tourism
(EBT) needs you to help promote travel during the upcoming winter travel
season by creating a brand-new, eye-catching travel presentation that will be
placed around your respective organism. The EBT has run the
numbers over and over again – unless a big push is made to
increase tourism, all businesses in the travel industry are
looking at a severe loss in profits in the winter travel season.
As someone involved in the tourism sector, you are probably
well aware that the income generated during this time of year
can either make or break your company. If all companies can work together,
perhaps we can entice the penny-pinching sub-cellular beings to take a
vacation from their woes!
Objective:
You will produce a travel presentation in google that describes your travel
destination (Ex: a high-class resort, an amusement park, sports arena, etc.)
which should be modeled after a plant cell. You must accurately
describe/paste/draw and explain at least 7 attractions/amenities/points of
interest that are found in your travel destination (each represents an
organelle found in the type of cell you are modeling your destination after).
Use the list below for the organelles and justify how the
attractions/amenities/points of interest represent their functions in a cell.
You may use google draw, paint or any other graphic program if you wish to
draw your organelles / images or go the web and search for images for your
presentation.
A started template has been proved for you in google classroom. You may
modify this template anyway you wish. For example maybe you want to
change the theme, layouts, type, color, or size of font.
REQUIREMENTS:
 Overall description of travel destination and why people should visit (2-3 sentences)
 Your information about each organelle (attraction/amenity/point of interest MUST be
accurate and complete.
o Required Organelles: Nucleus, Cell Membrane,
Travel Ideas
Vacuole, Mitochondria, Cytoplasm, Cell Wall,
City
Chloroplast, Golgi Complex, Ribosomes, smooth
Amusement park
endoplasmic reticulum (SER), & rough endoplasmic
Resort
reticulum (RER)
Tourist Attraction
 In your presentation keep the same order listed in the rubric
Museum
for your personation.
Sports Arena
 For each organelle listed in your presentation, you must do
Shopping Mall
three things:
Factory
o Describe the attraction/amenity/point of interest that
Or Wherever Creativity Takes You
it is representing in your business. (1-2 sentences)
Hint: think of your ideal travel
o Explain your analogy, how the
spot
attraction/amenity/point of interest relates to the
function of that organelle. (2-3 sentences).
 In the note section of the presentation (below the slide)
 Example: If I were describing a cell to be like a castle, I would describe the
gate around the castle as a wall with a drawbridge that control what goes
in and out(description) and explain how the cell membrane helps the cell
to control what enters and exits the cell (analogy for the cell membrane)
o Pictures to help grab the attention of your audience. Graphics and illustrations
may be drawn, using a graphic program or you may get an image from the web.
 You may use your textbook, class notes, and the internet to find information, but all
work must be original.
 Please be as creative, artistic and humorous as much as you like while remaining
accurate.
 The presentation must be colorful, neat and easy to read (Font size no smaller than
28) with minimal spelling errors.
o Look at the various themes in google presentation and find one that is
appropriate for your presentation.
o Consider animating your text and transitions between slides for a greater effect.
o Make your work look professional.
o Remember, your goal is to attract tourists!
 This can be a group project
o No more than 3 per group - NO Exception
o Make sure everyone’s name is in your presentation
o You must explain how each person contributed to your presentation.
 Don’t forget to turn in presentation
