This combination of melting and holding allows AMERICAN Castings to produce an extremely clean base iron with the consistent physical and chemical properties necessary to meet the stringent metallurgical requirements of our customers. Each metal treatment is carefully inspected to verify the integrity of the iron poured into the mold. Core Room AMERICAN Castings' Automated Core Room is capable of producing cores in weights ranging from 5 to 1200 pounds in volumes that match our molding capabilities. Processes include shell, ISOCURE® and no-bake core making. Our Automatic Cold Box Process includes both horizontally and vertically parted core equipment. Our wide variety of core equipment provides a unique opportunity for customers wishing to relocate existing pattern equipment. Each heat of iron is carefully analyzed and recorded by Melting Department employees. Molding AMERICAN Castings' unique molding capabilities make it one of the most versatile foundries in the world. The combination of Horizontal Green Sand and Automatic No-Bake Molding Lines allow our customers to reduce their supply base by bringing complete projects to one location. For medium to high volume castings (30-1000 pounds) we use a green sand unit (42" x 72" x 24"/24"). For low to medium volume, larger castings (500-3500 pounds) we offer our Automatic No-Bake Molding Line (120" x 60" x 19"/19"). Pattern Shop AMERICAN Castings' in-house Pattern Shop provides initial pattern setup, gating, risering and repairs. Our pattern inspection procedure ensures patterns are in top condition, dimensionally stable and ready to mold.
