Have you ever dreamed of making your own Candlewicked quilt? Margaret sure did and she
designed her own which I would love to have the opportunity to share it with you.
You will be able to choose from traditional cream or use the lovely colours available in Candlewicking
Thread. Margaret’s quilt has been worked using Cascade Candlewicking thread; this thread is no
longer available. We recommend the use of PC Traditional Candlewick, Tri-Finca8 or Finca Perle8
threads. All 12 blocks are 16 inches square in size, the design area covering approximately 13 inches
of the 16 inches of the block size. The finished size of the quilt is 203cms (80 inches) x 251cms (99
inches) which includes 3 inch sashing between the blocks and a 10" candlewicked border. A
medallion centre is an option to make the quilt into a king size. The medallion can also be used on its
own to make a cot quilt.
In each monthly posting you receive a neatly presented pattern pack containing a full size pattern,
instructions and photograph. Cost for the monthly postings excluding postage is $11.00 per month
and can be purchased for 1 payment of $132 for the full year or 3 equal payments of $44 i.e. a $44
payment when you enroll and then a further 2 payments of $44.
All the products needed to work your candlewick quilt can be supplied. I recommend purchasing all
the fabric needed for the quilt top before you begin to avoid possible dye-lot problems. It is surprising
how the dye-lots vary from roll to roll. You will need 6.5mtrs of 140cm wide Seeded Homespun for
the queen size quilt top including the binding.
A block will be posted to you every 4 weeks.

Colours
Should you be interested in working your design in colours, there are a couple of alternatives.
Option 1 is to use Finca Perle 8 thread. This thread gives a lovely sheen to your stitchery. We
estimate you will need approximately 12 x 10gram balls.
Option 2 is to use PC Candlewick Cotton which gives a traditional flat finish. We estimate you would
need up to 6 x 25gram balls – less it you are using it single all the way.
