You will be creating an informational poster about Pablo Picasso. You may choose to
either do this on the computer OR on poster paper.

You will need to include the following:
1. His birth/death date.
2. Where was he born? What occupations did his parents have?
3. Name facts about his childhood, including who Picasso studied art under.
4. What was going on with Picasso during the very early 1900s (1900-1903)? What
period of his work was being created during that time?
5. What important art exhibition did Picasso attend that changed the way he created his
artwork forever? How did his artwork change? (It specifically changed Les
Demoiselle de Avignon)
6. What culture’s art drastically changed the way Picasso created his art? How did it
specifically change his art? (It started with Les Demoiselle de Avignon)
7. What style of artwork is Picasso most noted for creating, and who was he working
with at the time?
8. What is Cubism? Describe each of these types of Cubism (Analytical Cubism and
Synthetic Cubism) and their characteristics that make them different.
9. Choose 5 important artworks from various periods of his work. Include the Title,
Date, Medium, Size, and Museum it is located in for each artwork.
