Freedom Summer is a film directed by Stanley Nelson Jr. that narrates
the events of Summer, 1964, and the campaign to register as many
African American voters as possible in Mississippi.
The film not only covers the 10week campaign to register African
Americans to vote, setup schools,
and community centers, but also the
associated violence that includes the
murder of three volunteers. The
Freedom Summer Campaign shone a
light on what some called a “closed
society”.

Free Admission (donations appreciated).
