An amateur trio snag the harmless and frail writer Michel Houellebecq and cart him off to
a quaint home on the outskirts of suburban Paris. There, they offer him wine, cigarettes
and more unmentionable pleasures while they await an answer to their ransom demands.
What ensues is a series of naturalistic discussions between these rather buff goons and
our smart-assed intellectual hero.
Director’s Biography:
Guillaume Nicloux was born on August 3, 1966. He is a director for
both television and film as well as a writer. His bibliography includes a

The story deals with the events in the lives of Zeno and Rossana, immersing the spectator
in the sentimental apathy that marks today’s relationships. He is a night watchman and
she is a musician. When they move to Rome for work reasons, things are already bad
between them, and the change only worsens their sentimental inertia. In fact they begin
to live in two different temporal dimensions: Rossana locks herself up in their home as if it
were a cage, while Zeno spends his nights doing rounds across the city with his lively and
easy-going colleague Tom. Zeno’s friendship with Tom, and particularly with Ela, a young
foreign barmaid, is a comfort for him, but also creates significant inner turmoil.
Director’s Biography:
Leonardo Frosina directed the short films “Venerdì” (1998) and “Non
amo nessuno” (2002), before moving to Rome to attend the Nuova
Università del Cinema e della Televisione (N.U.C.T.). Here he
continued directing short films, including “L'essenza dell'assenza”, in
competition in the Video-Art section of the Trani film festival,
Cortomirante (2004) and “Uriele”, in competition at the Reggio Film
Festival (2005). In 2008 he was selected for the International Film
Workshop Academy (InFWA) in Berlin where he directed “The Song of
the Whale”. In 2009, he held a film workshop at the Teatro Accademia
F. Centonze of Castelvetrano. In 2010 he started experimenting with
the Canon 550D making the teaser for “Non Legarti a Niente”, a
feature he is planning to shoot after “The Last Leaf”.

A dockworker who has just been laid off from his job sets off on a trudging country walk to
a luxurious lakeside mansion belonging to the dock's wealthy owner. Emotionless and
silently determined, the intruder slaughters the tycoon and his young wife. Instead of
fleeing the scene of his crime, the killer turns lord of the manor and begins savoring the
high life, gorging on expensive artwork and fancy food. But he soon starts to feel spooked
by odd noises and sightings around the remote, empty mansion. A mysterious figure, also
wearing an orange jacket like him, starts stalking him. A visit from a pair of look-alike
prostitutes descends into a sadistic, sexually deranged bloodbath and a brutal cat-andmouse chase through the snowy woods outside. Or so it seems, as there are strong hints
that these reality-warping scenes are feverish hallucinations.
Director’s Biography:
Aik Karapetian was born on 10 July, 1983. After having received his
M.A. degree in film direction from the Latvian Academy of Culture,
Karapetian went on to study at the Académie Internationale des Arts
ESEC in Paris, from where he graduated in 2008 as a film director. He
directed the new production of the Latvian National Opera's ‘The
Barber of Seville’, which was awarded the Best New Production of the
season. “People Out There” is Karapetian’s debut as a director of a
full-length feature film which premiered at Karlovy Vary IFF (2012) in
the competition section. His second feature-length project, a horror
film titled “M.O.Ж.” premiered at the Fantasia Film Festival
(Montreal) and Fantastic Fest (Austin). Karapetian is in high demand
as a TV commercial director.

Following the death of his father, Victor returns to Buenos Aires from Mexico. He
immediately attempts to rekindle his artistic pursuits, and to unconvincingly resist his
prior romantic foibles. He initiates a radio play of the Bard's ‘Love’s Labour’s Lost’ for his
former theatre company, which includes five women: his girlfriend Paula, who promised
to remain faithful to him; his lover Ana, who doubts the sincerity of his love; his ex Natalia,
who believes that she is still his favourite; Lorena, who dreams of taking their relationship
a step further; and Carla, a stranger who could very well be Victor's next true love. With
temptation and cunning hovering in the wings, life begins to imitate art as Victor's labour
of lost loves proves contagious.

when he confronts him about it, he gets a complete denial. His suspicions are confirmed
