The Chuck Wagon-

Invented by Charles Goodnight in 1866 in west Texas
The original wagon was built from an Army supply wagon. He then replaced the wood axles
with steel axles, Added the wooden Chuck box to the back (‘Chuck’ was a local term for
‘comfort food’), added a 30 gallon water barrel, tool box, possum belly, and a cook’s fly for
shade.
