On Tuesday morning Winnie Richman observed a badly injured horse in the Double S Bar corral. He was separated from the herd and put into a horse trailer and driven to Bear River Animal Hospital in Tremonton The outcome was bleak for the horse. After he was anesthetized Dr. Asay probed deeper into the wound and found the injury had pierced the stomach wall which was leading to a case of peritonitis. The horse had to be put down. Clynn and Winnie thank Dr. Asay and the Box Elder County Landfill for their help with this problem. Winnie and Carolyn Carter are both working on Christmas canvasses at art. Winnie will try her canvass as a Christmas card, and Carolyn will use hers to decorate her home. On Saturday Winnie drove Clynn’s truck and hay trailer to Bothwell to pick up some extra good hay that Winnie hopes will help add pounds and conditioning to the family’s fat steers. “These animals look good,” Winnie says, “but I am hoping to make them prime animals.” On Sunday the ThatcherPenrose Second Ward choir performed a very beautiful arrangement of the Hallelujah Chorus from George Frederick Handel’s great oratorio “Messiah.” After Sacrament many wonderful comments were heard, “It sounded like the Tabernacle Choir!” All the parts blended so well,” and “it was so beautiful!” Carol Larsen is to be commended for choosing the arrangement that best suited our choir. Debbie Hudman exhibited her wonderful talent on the piano as accompanist. She really provided the range of sound needed to make the song complete. 7 SeniorNews Brigham City Community Center 24 South 300 West · Brigham City · 226-1450 Monday-Friday · 7:30 a.m. - 5 p.m. Senior Idol is set for Thursday, May 1, beginning at 11:30 a.m. Judges are tasked with determining the best karaoke singer from those who participate.
