Southern government
The southern colonies were under control by royal governments. Virginia was
the first governed place in the southern colonies. Also James oglethorpe ruled
georgia for 20 years. Just before the American Revolutionary War, there were
three proprietary colonies: Delaware, Maryland, and Pennsylvania
Culture/Society
the people who lived in the southern colonies were mostly agricultural,and
consisted of wealthy plantation owners,and small farmers. They weren’t
dominated by a specific religion which gave way to religious freedom for Baptists,
Anglicans and others.
