Eligibility:
Open to all swimmers currently (2017) registered with USA Swimming that have not met the included
time standards. No swimmer will be permitted to compete unless the swimmer is a member as provided
in Article 302. This meet will be run according to current USA Swimming rules and regulations.
Swimmers age will be determined as of June 9, 2017 for the entire competition.
Deck Registration:
No deck registration will be accepted; swimmers must be registered at time of entry.
Entry Limits, Fees
and Deadlines:
Due to the number of swimmers expected, the 11-Under Mini meet (Session 1) and 12-Older B-C Meet
(Session 2) will be limited to approximately the first 125 swimmers to enter not including
Cottonwood Heights Aquatics Team. Teams, however, will not be split up (this pertains only to
entries received at the same time while still under the cap of the respective meet). Once the cap has been
met, additional entries may be accepted upon Meet Director approval based upon the time line.
Entries will be accepted beginning May 1, 2017 at 9:00 a.m. All entries must be received no later than
Tuesday, May 30, 2017. All entries will be subject to the meet entry limit--regardless if they
are received prior to the entry deadline.
All swimmers may enter/compete in 3 events. No Times (NT’s) will be accepted.
$5.00 per event entered plus $10.00 per swimmer surcharge.
Teams from out of state are recommended to contact the meet director prior to making
travel arrangements to make sure their entries have been accepted under the meet entry
cap.

All entries must be submitted on the enclosed entry form or Hy-Tek compatible disk. Verification of entry
times (place and date) must be submitted on the form, or a signed hard copy of entries from Team
Manager. Time verification will be in effect. All swimmers may enter/compete in 3 events. No Times
(NT’s) will be accepted. Incorrect entries will be returned and subject to the entry deadline
upon correction of the problems. Entries will not be accepted unless the Team Information
sheet is filled out completely!
Whether entries are submitted electronically or on paper, by the action of entering the swimmer in the
meet the submitter, whether the swimmer, coach, parent or team representative, certifies that the
swimmer is a registered member of USA Swimming and that all times stated in/on the entry are true and
correct. The submitter further assumes responsibility for any false or incorrect times, and understands
that all listed entry times are subject to Utah Swimming Time Verification Procedures, and that a fine of
$20.00 shall be paid to Utah Swimming, Inc. for each incorrect time, unless corrected before the entry
deadline. It is understood that an automatic call before the review section shall be the result for a third
entry time that cannot be verified. The submitter further agrees that a penalty of $100.00 shall be
assessed to anyone entering a swimmer in a meet sanctioned by Utah Swimming, Inc. who is not
registered with USA Swimming at the time of entry upon it being proved that the swimmer was not so
registered.
A mandatory scratch down may apply to this meet if the time line exceeds 4 hours for 12-Under swimmers,
subject to the provisions of USA Swimming Rules and Regulations 205.3.1F.

Session 1 Meet Format:
This session will be timed finals and swum short course (25 yards).
Warm-up will be at 7:30 am. The meet begins at 8:30 a.m. Swimmers must
positively check in for their events by 8:00 a.m. or they will be
scratched from the session. Time trials will NOT be offered.
Session 2 Meet Format:
This session will be timed finals and swum long course (50 meters).
Warm-up will be at 7:30 am. The meet begins at 8:30 a.m. Swimmers must
positively check in for their events by 8:00 a.m. or they will be
scratched from the session. Time trials will NOT be offered.
Warm-up:
USA Swimming and Utah Swimming safety procedures will be enforced throughout the meet. Warmups are subject to the following procedures:

Warm-up: Coaches have the responsibility of ensuring that all their swimmers are instructed in
warm-up procedures and that the swimmers follow all Utah Swimming safety procedures. All
swimmers will enter the pool from a sitting or 3-point position. No pushing, splashing, running or
any other general horseplay. Swimmers engaging in such activities will be asked to leave the pool.
All USA Swimming athletes must be under the supervision of a USA Swimming member coach
during warm-up, competition, and warm-down. The Meet Director or Meet Referee may assist
•
unaccompanied swimmers in making arrangements for such supervision, but it is the
swimmer’s responsibility to make such arrangements prior to the start of the meet. 202.5.3
All lanes will be general warm-up until the final 20 minutes of warm-up at which time lanes 2 and 7
will be for one way racing starts.
Dive Certification:
“Any swimmer entered in the meet must be certified by a USA Swimming member-coach as being
proficient in performing a racing start or must start each race from within the water. When
unaccompanied by a member-coach, it is the responsibility of the swimmer or the swimmer’s legal
guardian to ensure compliance with this requirement.” 202.4.9D
Restrictions:
Deck changes are prohibited. 202.4.9I
Use of audio or visual recording devices, including a cell phone, is not permitted in changing areas, rest
rooms or locker rooms. 202.4.9H and Article 305.3.
Operation of a drone, or any other flying apparatus, is prohibited over the venue (pools, athlete/coach
areas, spectator areas and open ceiling locker rooms) any time athletes, coaches, officials and/or
spectators are present. 202.4.9J
2 piece (bikini type) swim suits will not be allowed in the competition or warm up pools. If they are
covering a legal competition swim suit, they will be allowed.
Sale and use of alcoholic beverages is prohibited in all areas of the meet venue.
Smoking and the use of other tobacco products is prohibited on the pool deck, in the locker rooms, in
spectator seating, in standing areas and in all areas used by athletes during the meet and during warm
up periods.
Adaptive Swimming Adaptive swimming: In accordance with USA Swimming rule 202.4.13 & Article 105.1, the Meet Referee
has the authority to accommodate swimmers with disabilities in accordance with USI P&P 1.17. The coach
or person in charge of team entries must notify the meet referee and meet entry contact of
accommodations requests at the time of entry submission.
Scoring:
There will not be team/individual scoring for this meet.
Awards:
Session 1 (11-Under Mini ) = Custom Ribbons 1st – 8th place (8-Under, 9-10, 11 year olds)
Session 2 (12-18 BC) = Custom Ribbons 1st – 8th place (12 year olds, 13-14, 15-18)
Results:
Final Results will be available on the Utah Swimming web site in a (HTML) printable format and in a
downloadable Team Manager (Cfile.zip) format. Results will not be mailed.
Deck access:
Deck access is limited to swimmers, coaches, officials & meet workers. Officials and coaches must wear
their USA Swimming ID cards to be allowed on deck.
Officials:
Officials’ swimmer’s entrance fees will be waived. Please let us know who will be available to officiate so
the entrance fees can be deducted.
Hospitality:
Available for coaches and officials.
Timers:
All teams with 10 or more swimmers in a particular session will be required to provide two (2) timers to
be available. Lanes will be assigned as needed and assignments will be e-mailed out prior to the start of
the meet. Teams with fewer than 10 swimmers may be asked to provide one (1) timer. Lanes will be
