Africa is home to the longest river in the world (the Nile), the largest land animal (the African elephant), the tallest land animal (the giraffe), the fastest land animal (the cheetah), the largest reptile (the Nile crocodile) and the largest primate (the gorilla) Africa is the hottest continent on earth. There are over 2000 languages spoken in Africa. There are more pyramids in Sudan than there are in Egypt. The world’s highest temperature since records began was 58°C, recorded in Libya in 1922.
