The Shakespear e INSTITUTE
The Institute is a three-w eek training program for students, ages 14-18,
interested in exploring theatrical technique, digging into the classics, and
learning how to passionately communicate their story to the stage.
WHAT IS THE INSTITUTE?
WHEN?
During this three-w eek intensive, performers, ages
14-18, dive head first into the w orld of the greatest
playw right in history: William Shakespeare. Under the
guidance of theatre professionals, participants unravel
his plays w ith text analysis; transform into Shakespeare?s
characters through voice, movement, and improvisation
w ork; w age battles against enemies w ith stage combat;
and develop fundamental acting skills using classical
theatre techniques. To culminate each session,
participants stage a performance for friends and family.

COST?
To participate in the Institute, the fee is $600. This includes
classes, registration, costume, and makeup fees. Please

Dance, theatrical and character movement, voice and
speech training, fight choreography, w arm up
techniques, audition and table read techniques, scene
study, and yoga.
Classical Actors Ensemble is proud to be able to offer

WHAT IS THE PERFORM ANCE?

At the end of the three w eeks, students w ill have a full
scale production of Shakespeare's A M idsummer
Night's Dream to present to families and friends. The
performance w ill take place at The Phoenix Theater in
M inneapolis at 6:00 PM on Friday, July 24.
