About the program …
• The program ‘’Education of immigrants on the Greek
language, Greek history and Greek culture- Odysseus ‘’
addresses EU citizens and third country nationals who
live in Greece and are at least 16 years old.
• The program is co-financed by Greece and the
European Union in the context of the Operational
program ‘’Education and Lifelong learning‘’ of the
Ministry of Education, Religious Affairs.

AIMS AND LEVELS
• The main aim is that the learners will acquire the
language skills as well as the social and crosscultural capabilities which are necessary for the
social integration and active participation of
themselves and their families.
• Levels: A1 (125 hours), A2 (175 hours), B1 (185
hours) and B1 with emphasis on speaking skills (195
hours). Lessons are free of charge.
• The lessons are provided 2 to 3 times a week and
last 3 to 4 hours each time.

ODYSSEUS IN LASITHI REGION
20 classes from May 2014 until present day.
5 classes have been created for the town of Agios Nikolaos, 2
classes for the town of Siteia and 13 classes for Ierapetra.
11 classes level A1, 8 classes level A2 and 1 class level B1 have
already taken place and are currently taking place.
In the 12 of the 20 classes the trainees come from the Balkan
region or the eastern European countries.
In the other 8 classes, the trainees are from countries of the E.U.

I do not wish to appear that I am theorizing, I am inviting all the
attendees in the Celebration of Immigrants which will take place on the
first of June in Ierapetra part of the ‘’ ODYSSEUS’’ program and towns’
council with the participation of the trainees, friends and family.
