The „Speicherstadt“ is Hamburg’s unique and historical
storehouse city within the old harbour area. This area
hosts 9 museums and exhibitions, for example:
Speicherstadt Museum, Maritime Museum,
Miniatur-Wunderland (the world’s largest model railway)

AUTOMUSEUM PROTOTYP
The museum houses the world’s largest collecion of
model ships and maritime art, counting over 40,000
items and more than one million photoraphs. The
exhibits are presented on 9 decks within the historic
Kaispeicher B warehouse, in the centre of HafenCity.
Next door the Prototyp automobile museum shows a
rare collection of classic sport cars.

The MV Cap San Diego, built in 1961, is the last
sea-going-museum-cargo-ship of its size.
Apart from being a museum, it also provides hotel
rooms, hosts a bistro on board and serves as a
venue for various events. From this point, it makes just
a short walk to Hamburg’s landmark, the “Michel”
(St. Michaelis church).

The MARITIME CIRCLE LINE departs from St. Pauli
landing stages, bridge no. 10, just behind the Old Elbe
tunnel. The landing stages were built at the
beginning of the last century. Today, they form the heart
of Hamburg’s harbour and they are also an ideal spot to
appreciate a beautiful view of the Elbe while enjoying
one of Hamburg‘s classic bread rolls with all sorts of fish
specialities.

Right on the waterfront of the river Elbe, on the
western tip of HafenCity, Hamburg is currently
building a new concert hall - the Elbphilharmonie.
The glass structure has built the former warehouse known as the Kaispeicher A and rises up to
a 110 meters. The heart of the Elbphilharmonie is
the Grand Hall, a world class concert hall. With the
capacity of 2,100 guests and a height of 50 metres, it provides a spectacular stage for
Hamburg‘s vibrant music scene and stars from all over the world.

HARBOUR MUSEUM HAMBURG
The Harbour Museum is located in the
historical Warehouse 50 within the former
free port area. It exhibits a historical storage
depot, demonstrating how cargo was
handled before containers took over.
The museum gives an impression of how
hard the work in the harbour used to be.
Visitors can admire historical cargo and service vessels, cranes and railway wagons.
