This town was the royal state of Emperor Pachacuti during the Inca Empire and in the Spanish conquest of Peru it served as a stronghold for Manco Inca Yupanqui, leader of the Inca resistance. Pisac Market The Pisac village is well known for its market every Sunday, Tuesday, and Thursday, which attracts heavy tourist traffic from nearby Cusco. The whole town has been converted into a street market where you will find all kinds of handicrafts, antiques and Alpaca wool clothing and a section where the real local market of fruits, vegetables and even meat of different kinds are sold. Chinchero Village Just about an hour from Cusco is Chinchero, a small village, with beautiful views of the Sacred Valley. Adobe homes, narrow cobbled streets and people in traditional dresses make it a charming place. Visit the church built on foundations of an Incan palace, see the woman weaving the wool and buy souvenirs to take home at the Sunday market. Tiobamba Village This is a very special experience. The Tiobamba Village consists of a beautiful old church set out in the middle of nowhere, surrounded by a wall, which protects the few dogs, and 2 families who inhabited the town. This tiny town is the perfect setting for a meal.
