1) Date for current BMAT year?
The BMAT will take place on 2 November 2016 at 3.00 pm Singapore time.
2) Who needs to take BMAT?
All candidates applying to the following institutions/courses are required to take BMAT:

Failure to sit for BMAT could result in an unsuccessful application to a candidate’s chosen
institution. It is important that candidates refer to university websites, prospectuses and UCAS
for a definitive list of entry requirements.
3) When is the registration period?

4) Where can I take BMAT?
Candidates will be assigned to one of the following venues. They are:
Raffles Institution
Hwa Chong Institution
Victoria Junior College
Candidates who are currently attending one of the above schools will take BMAT at their respective
school. RELC EB reserves the right to assign candidates from other schools/colleges/polytechnics to
sit the BMAT at one of the above schools. The decision made will be final.

5) How do I register for BMAT?
You need to submit the following documents to RELC EB by the next day after making payment.
i)
A copy of duly completed and signed BMAT Registration Form (Page 1 – 3);
ii) A copy of NRIC / FIN (back & front)
6) I am currently on the Ministry Of Education Financial Assistance Scheme (MOE FAS). How do
I register for BMAT?
If you are currently under MOE Financial Assistance Scheme (MOE FAS) you will need to submit
your BMAT completed and signed Registration form directly to your school by 15 September 2016.
Your school will submit the completed and signed registration form and payment to RELC EB on
your behalf. Please check with your school for more information.
If you have graduated from a school, please check with MOE if you are eligible to apply for MOE
Financial Assistance Scheme.

8) How do I make payment?
Candidates can make payment via any AXS machine islandwide.

9) Can I withdraw my entry for the test?
Please note that candidates who decide to withdraw from the BMAT will need to submit their
withdrawal request via email and completing the Refund Form latest by 15 October 2016. Any
request for withdrawal will be considered final and the entry will not be reinstated. An administrative
charge of SGD 20.00 inclusive of GST will be levied for each withdrawal. Candidates who have
registered from 1 September 2016 to 1 October 2016 (Standard Entry) will be refunded the Total
Amount paid less GST and less Centre Administration Fee.
Candidates who have registered from 2 to 15 October 2016 (Late Entry) will be refunded the Total
Amount paid less GST, less Centre Administration Fee and less all Late Entry Fees.
It is not possible to withdraw your entry for the test after 15 October 2016.
10) Where do I enter my BMAT candidate number?
You need to enter your BMAT candidate number on all exam scripts. Your candidate number can be
found on your Statement of Entry, which will be mailed to you. Your candidate number begins with a
“B” followed by five numbers (e.g. B12345).
11) What access arrangements are available for BMAT candidates?
Access arrangements are available for candidates with certain conditions who have an established
need of history and provision. Conditions include:
Dyslexia
Dysorthographia
Dysgraphia
Working memory deficit
Dyspraxia
Such candidates may need extra working time, or to use a laptop or other physical support.
12) What do I do if I need access arrangement?
You must notify the centre (RELC EB) in advance of any access arrangements you need. You may be
asked to provide clinical evidence.
13) What are the guidelines for laptop use?
Candidates using a laptop should format their work in Arial font, size 11, single-spaced. Automatic
spell checkers and grammar checkers must be disabled. The word limit for each BMAT writing task
is 550 words – candidates can be marked down for going over this limit.
14) When do I get the Statement of Entry after registering for BMAT?
You will receive the Statement of Entry 5 calendar days before the test.

15) What must I bring to the test venue?
You need to bring the following items to the test venue.
1) NRIC/Foreign Identification Document;
2) Statement of Entry;
3) RELC EB Notification Letter
16) Will candidates whose first language is not English be given extra time?
No, candidates applying to courses requiring BMAT are expected to have a good command of
English.
17) Do I qualify for special consideration? How do I apply?
Requests for special consideration are used to indicate to institutions that a candidate suffered
temporary illness, injury or indisposition at the time of the assessment. They may also be used to
indicate that there were problems with an aspect of the administration of the test, such as a fire alarm
during the test session

To make your request, please fill up the online form within 5 calendar days after the test.
18) What writing instruments should be used for BMAT?
Candidates should use a soft pencil (e.g. 2B pencil) for Section 1 and 2. Mechanical pencil is not
encouraged. It would also be helpful if you have an eraser available should you need to erase and
amend your answer. For Section 3, you must use a black ink pen. Correction fluid / tape are not
permitted.
19) Are dictionaries and bi-lingual dictionaries allowed for BMAT?
No, dictionaries including bi-lingual dictionaries cannot be used for BMAT.
20) Are calculators allowed for BMAT?
No, calculators are not allowed for BMAT.
21) When will BMAT results be published?
BMAT results will be released from 07.00am Singapore time via BMAT Results Online System on
25 November 2016.
22) Can I use a BMAT result from a previous year as part of a new application?
No, BMAT results are only accepted by universities in the year candidates apply for university. For
example, a candidate applying to start university in 2017 or for a deferred place in 2018 needs to sit
BMAT in November 2016 regardless of whether they have sat the BMAT before. Likewise, a
candidate’s score from one year will not affect their chances if re-applying in later years, as each
application is considered afresh.

23) Can BMAT results be Queried or Appealed?
Yes, candidate can submit a Results Enquiry or an Appeal directly to The Admissions Testing
Service (ATS).

24) How do I submit the Results of Enquiry or Appeal?
Please submit the Results of Enquiry and Appeal via The Admissions Testing online system.

Please note: Candidates should be aware that their results can go down as well as up, and that
this could affect their university application.
25) What are the fees for submitting a Results Enquiry or Appeal? And who pays?
The current fees for a BMAT Results Enquiry or Appeal that needs to be paid directly to The
Admissions Testing Service via credit card are reflected on the table below. Any fees charged will be
refunded if your results are revised.

26) Can PINs for Results Online be reissued?
No, for security reasons ATS cannot reissue candidate PINs. If you have lost your PIN, you will need
to contact RELC EB for a copy of your Statement of Results.
