CONFLICT QUESTION ON HOME CHILD
Conflict is a struggle between two or more opposing forces. Conflict is important in any novel
because it forms the plot of the story. There are three different types of conflict:
1. Internal Conflict - Man against himself
2. External Conflict - Man against Nature
3. Interpersonal Conflict - Man against Man
Use examples from the novel to write a well developed essay showing how these three types of
conflict are in Home Child and whether or not the conflicts get resolved.

1. Identify the circle number in the top corner of every section in your diagram.
2. Choose colours, designs, and symbols to effectively represent the theme, mood, tone
created by your novel
3. The ball will replace a “book report” – so the presentation of the final project is essential!
4. HAVE FUN!!!
Circle #1
 Write the title, author, publisher, city and copyright date (as needed for a bibliography) of
the book in a circle. Plan to use up the entire space and make it attractive using colour
and pictures.

Do a character sketch of the MAIN character (choose either Sadie or Arthur) in the story.
Include both physical and six personality characteristics. This should be supported and
done in two separate paragraphs.

 Choose at least five examples of interesting or exciting language that the author uses.
Print the sentences in the circle. Look for figures of speech or descriptive language.

 Draw a picture or a map of the setting of the novel.

 Create a different ending to the story. It should be a minimum of two paragraphs in

express his feelings.
