Congratulations to the members of the STEM research group, White, B., Rogers, A., O’Keeffe, L.,
Brown, L., Chinnappan, M., Trenholm, S & McCluskey, C, in conjunction with Julie Clark at
Flinders University hosted the Mathematics Education Research Group Australasia annual
conference, MERGA 39, from 3rd to the 7th of July 2016. There were 170 delegates, with 30
international participants from 9 countries. The members of the group made 7 presentations and
the conference proceedings were edited by Bruce White, Mohan Chinnappan and Sven Trenholm.
The conference provided an opportunity for the STEM group to engage with leading Mathematics
Education researchers from around the world.

