WORSHIP THEME - FORGIVENESS ‘Forgive us for doing wrong, as we forgive others’ (Matthew 6v12). The Lord’s Prayer We all need forgiveness – there is no limit to forgiveness As we begin to prepare for Easter, our worship theme for the next three weeks is forgiveness. Children will be learning that everyone makes mistakes – we are all human! As a result everyone needs forgiveness. Furthermore, forgiveness should have no limits and we should be forgiven and forgive others. Children will learn the story of the prodigal son, who although was silly and made many mistakes, was forgiven by his father. Forgiveness can be hard: the other son in the story felt his brother should not be welcomed back or forgiven but that is what God calls Christians to do. Our key Bible verse is again taken from the Lord’s Prayer. HEADTEACHER UPDATE It has been another busy week in school with lots going on and children taking part in lots of great activities. NETBALL TEAM Last week we heard that the netball team had qualified for the finals of the High 5 Netball tournament at St Leonards Academy. The team were up against 12 other school and played brilliantly with great team spirit and excellent sportsmanship. Although they did not win their excellent attitude was noted and I am very proud to say that the team won the Fair Play Award—a fantastic achievement. Well done! This just goes to show that it is not only the winning that is important but the attitude and way in which you play— a great example to everyone. GOOD LUCK and WELL DONE! Good luck to Gwen and Molly who are both running in the mini marathon on Sunday for Pestalozzi. Well done to Mak for a great performance on his bike in the southern cross country series in which he came 6th out of 42 competitors. Well done Mak! HASTINGS FESTIVAL Lots of children from school have been taking part in Hastings Festival. Well done to all the children who play the piano and keyboard who have lessons with Scott—you did really well. Also well done to Ella and Erin (Y5) who also both took part and performed well. CHOIR The school choir also took part in the festival, and although they did not place they sang beautifully and behaved impeccably representing the school brilliantly. Well done everyone. HOBBIT PERFORMANCE On Friday we had a performance of the Hobbit from a visiting theatre company. The quality of the performance was brilliant and we are hoping that they will be able to visit again next year. It is lovely for the children to see a live performance and to see classic literature brought to life. OFSTED UPDATE I have received a draft Ofsted report to be checked for factual accuracy. This is the last check before the report is released so I am very hopeful that the final report will be with us very soon and hope to be able to share it with you this week.
