Driving Directions to Camp Ozark
From Texas (Texarkana)
Take I-30 E to Prescott, AR. Take HWY
19 N (I-30 exit 46) through Delight. Approximately 8 miles past Delight, turn
right on HWY 379 (bypasses Murfreesboro). Travel 3 miles to HWY 27. Turn
north (right) on HWY 27 and travel to
Glenwood. Follow HWY 27 (which joins
HWY 8) north through Glenwood all the
way to Mt. Ida. Turn west (left) on HWY.
270 and travel 6 miles to Camp Ozark.
The entrance to Camp Ozark is on the left
(south) side of the road just before the
Ouachita River.
From Kansas, Oklahoma, and NW
Arkansas (Fayetteville)
Join HWY 71 S at Kansas City,
Fayetteville, or Ft. Smith. Head south on
HWY 71 through Ft. Smith 30 miles to
“Y” City (not really a town, just an intersection). At “Y” City, turn left (east) on
HWY 270 and travel approximately 25
miles. After passing through Pencil Bluff
(very small town!), go another 3 miles,
cross the Ouachita River, and the Camp
Ozark entrance will be on the right
(south) side of the road.
From Tennessee (Memphis)
From Alabama
Take I-40 W from Memphis to Little Rock.
You may bypass Little Rock (to an extent)
by taking I-440. Take I-30 W for approximately 20 miles. Exit HWY 70 to Hot
Springs. Just east of Hot Springs, you can
exit onto HWY 270, which loops around
the city. Mt. Ida is located approximately
35 miles west of Hot Springs on HWY 270.
Six miles past Mt. Ida, look for the Camp
Ozark entrance on the left (south) side of
the road just before the Ouachita River.
From Birmingham, take I-20 to Tuscaloosa. In Tuscaloosa, take HWY 82 W all
the way across Mississippi to Greenville,
MS. Continue to Lake Village, AR, and
then take HWY 65 N to Pine Bluff. Pick
up HWY 270 W in Pine Bluff and continue
on through Hot Springs to Mt. Ida.
Travel 6 miles past Mt. Ida to Camp
Ozark. The entrance to Camp Ozark is on
the left (south) side of the road just before the Ouachita River.
From Louisiana
From Shreveport, take HWY 3 N (which turns into HWY 29 in Arkansas) to Hope, AR.
At Hope, take I-30 E to Prescott, and then follow the Texas directions as listed above.
NOTE: Many parents choose to drive to Hot Springs and spend the night prior to dropping-off or picking-up their campers. The best way to reach Hot Springs coming from
Texas or Louisiana is to take I-30 to Hwy. 7. Hwy. 7 leads directly into Hot Springs.
Coming from Tennessee, etc., the best route to Hot Springs is to take I-30 to Hwy. 70.
If coming from NW Arkansas, the best route is to take Hwy. 71 south to Hwy. 270. This
will take you past Camp Ozark and into Hot Springs.
