ATTENTION JUNIORS: College Visit Trip to the Northeast Coast June 3rd-June 9th 2012-Lowell will be piloting a college
visit trip this summer. This seven day / six night excursion will introduce you to several colleges and universities where you will have
the chance to experience first-hand what college life is all about, become actively involved in obtaining accurate and reliable
information, and have an exciting and educational time with your classmates and friends. You will visit: George Washington
University or Georgetown University; Johns Hopkins University or Goucher College; University of Pennsylvania; Swarthmore
College or Drexel University; Columbia University or Fordham University; New York University; Yale University; Brown University;
Harvard University or Emerson College; Boston University or Tufts University or Wellesley College (YOU CHOOSE SCHOOL TO VISIT
WHEN GIVEN OPTION). THE ESTIMATED COST PER STUDENT IS $2100. THIS INCLUDES GROUND AND AIR

DEBATERS WIN BIG AT PINOLE VALLEY - A total of 48 members of Lowell's Parliamentary Debate squad invaded
Pinole Valley HS last month, earning more than their fair share of trophies. In varsity division, Andrew Chan & Jesse Hannwalt
hold 3-1 record. In JV, Brian Chu & Steffie Guan and Tim Bricker & Jordan Wong went undefeated while the following teams
racked up 3-1 records: Jeffrey Chen & Bob Wu; Alexandra Jensen & Kavin Lam; Andy Phung & Alex Bocknek; and Courtney
Lam & Jenny Liao. And special thanks to counselor Tony Lee for accompanying the squad to Pinole. In the words of Lowell's
legendary debate coach, George Lorbeer, "The only losers are those who don't compete." (T. Abad)
CONGRESS AND POLICY DEBATERS SHINE AT SONOMA VALLEY - A record 17 Student Congress competitors
travelled to Sonoma Valley HS last month, with the following squad members earning awards: Shin San (2nd place, Senate),
Alison Ong (5th, Senate), Joe Genolio (5th, House) and Joyce Wang (5th, House). In Policy Debate, novices Tiffany Chin &
Jennifer Chan earned a trophy for their 3-1 record. Congrats to all who competed! (T. Abad)
DEBATERS FIND SUCCESS IN CHICAGO - At the prestigious Glenbrooks national invitational in late November, Student
Congress debater Shin San battled through 12 hours of preliminary and semi-final competition to earn a finalist spot as one of the
top twenty in a field of 180 students. In Policy Debate, the teams of Julian Manasse-Boetani & Cailin Hong and Rachel Ng &
Michelle Li each battled through 7 rounds against some of the country's top teams. (T. Abad)
6TH MAN SHIRTS NOW AVAILABLE-There is a limited amount of 6th man shirts available this year. Basketball season is
here so it’s time for the 6th man (or women) to get ready for the year. 6th man shirts are $15 dollars and get you into all home

BASEBALL- Sign-ups for 2012 Lowell Baseball will take place Tuesday December 6th at 3:30pm on room 21. Physicals needed

SPRING 2012 TRACK & FIELD TEAM INFORMATION MEETING- There will be an information meeting regarding the
upcoming season on Wednesday December 7 in room 21at 3:40 PM. All new/returning athletes should come by to pick up paper
work needed to start practice in late January 2012. Members of winter sport teams do not need to attend but should drop a note to
