CONSUMERS NATIONAL BANK LAUNCHES MOBILE PAYMENTS
Minerva, Ohio–Consumers National Bank announced today that it has begun offering mobile payments
to its clients. Clients can now add their Consumers National Bank MasterCard Debit Card to mobile
wallets with Apple Pay, Android Pay and Samsung Pay. With these mobile payment options, the client’s
debit card information is never shared with merchants. Once the debit card information is entered into the
mobile wallet app, it is encrypted and no card information is saved on the mobile device.
“Staying current with the latest technology is an important part of today’s banking environment,” said
Derek Williams, Senior Vice President of Retail Sales and Operations. “In the past few years, consumer
acceptance of mobile payments has continued to expand and more merchants are now accepting this secure
form of payment. Paying with their smart phones is something clients have been asking for, and we are
happy to deliver it to them through all three major mobile payment wallets,” said Williams.
Last summer, Consumers National Bank launched its MasterCard Debit Card with EMV chip technology.
With the addition of the EMV chip, Consumers Bank debit cards now carry state-of-the-art fraud
technology that enhance the safety and security of the cards. “Keeping client information safe and
preventing debit card fraud is one of Consumers National Bank’s highest priorities. Technology such as
EMV chip debit cards and mobile wallet payments help us protect our clients,” said Williams.
