The IP Edge PAL/NTSC EPM xxx can receive DVB transport streams with MPEG-2
compressed TV services over IP networks and is able to transmodulate these
services directly to analogue RF video channels. 4 ASI input interfaces and in case
of EPM 6xx 2 RF frontends and 2 ASI inputs allows the user to use other transport
stream sources.
The modulator has a separate control interface and can be configured and
operated via a web browser with a standard PC. The implemented SNMP agent
allows the integration in a network management (NMS). An automatic redundancy
switching is implemented. In case of a channel failure the EPM 3xx can automatically switch over to a redundant channel already configured.
The EPM 3xx is ideally suited for IP based remote headends, master headends
and other kinds of cable networks like hotels, hospitals or small communities.
