St. Mary of Mt. Carmel School, Dunmore
On September 6, Bishop Joseph C. Bambera celebrated the opening school Mass at St.

Notre Dame High School, East Stroudsburg
The theater at Notre Dame High School in East Stroudsburg was filled with students, faculty, parents and family members for the First Day of School Liturgy. Celebrated by Msgr.
John Bergamo of St. Matthew’s Parish in East Stroudsburg and concelebrated by Rev. Jeffrey Walsh of St. John’s Parish in East Stroudsburg, the annual liturgy brings the elementary
and high school community together as they gather to share in Word and Sacrament.

All Saints Academy,
Scranton
Students from St. Clare/ St. Paul School, in Scranton recently celebrated
their opening school liturgy. After Mass, they enjoyed a special visit

LaSalle Academy, Dickson City
La Salle Academy celebrated “Buddy Day” on Friday, September 20. All
students gathered at the Dickson City Campus to celebrate Mass and
have a fun day with their “buddies” in grades Pre-K 3 through grade 3.
The beginning of a new year at St. Jude School in Mountaintop
was celebrated with a liturgy at St. Jude Church. The 8th Grade
was responsible for the preparation of the Mass. Shown from left,

Holy Family Academy, Hazleton
Holy Family Academy in Hazleton celebrated Grandparent’s Day with Mass on

Holy Rosary School, Duryea
The 2nd Grade students at St. Nicholas-St. Mary School in Wilkes-Barre have begun their

At Notre Dame Elementary
School in East Stroudsburg,
students, faculty, staff,
school parents, loved ones,
and community members
came together to honor the
memory of Sister Margaret
Mary Kane, IHM, on a day filled
with sunshine and blue skies.
Students led prayers, sang
hymns, and released balloons
around a recently planted tree
that was dedicated to Sister.
Students also wrote their
favorite Sister Margaret Mary
memories on seeded paper,
which was planted around
her tree with the hope those
remembrances will bloom into
flowers each spring.
Wyoming Area Catholic in Exeter hosted a Scholastic Book Fair and had a special visit from
Clifford the Big Red Dog. Clifford is shown with students, from left: John Wayne Kravitz, Dylan

Our Lady of Peace School, Clarks Green
Our Lady of Peace School in
Clarks Green hosted a backto-school picnic. Students
released balloons with the
inscription, “This biodegradable balloon was released by
the proud students of Our
Lady of Peace School at 410
N. Abington Rd. Clarks Green,
PA 18411 as we lift off a new
school year! Please write to let
us know how far our school
spirit has flown.” Each tag was
labeled with the homeroom of
the student who released it.
