Lang Ranch Elementary PTA - Talent Show Rules
Please look carefully at the Talent Show rules and required dates of attendance before signing
and returning the registration form.

To be Eligible

The show is open to Lang Ranch students in grades 3-5 (K-2 may participate if part of an act
with older students).
There is a $15 entry fee PER student who performs.

Students may perform in only one act and the act may be NO longer than 2 minutes.

Each student must return a completed and signed Talent Show Registration Form and bring
their $15 entry fee when they come to audition (checks can be made to the Lang Ranch
PTA).

Students MUST attend one audition and MUST attend the dress rehearsal in order to
participate in Talent Show.

Planning your Act

Rated G please! Lyrics, costumes and performances should be compliant with school
policy and appropriate for all audiences. Music and performances will be screened for
appropriateness.

All acts will be limited to 2 minutes maximum time. Please plan accordingly.

The student must provide all equipment needed for their act. If your act requires recorded
accompanying music, the music must be provided to the Talent Show Committee at the time
of the auditions on a CD labeled with the student’s name(s), song name, and
artist\composer. Please make sure the song is also edited to be no longer than 2 minutes in
length.

Auditions and Rehearsals

Auditions, Rehearsals, and Performances will be held in the Lang Ranch MPR.
Music, costumes, and props must be ready at auditions. Piano and sound system will be
provided.
Students will only need to attend ONE audition day.
All students will SIGN IN with a Talent Show committee member upon arrival, and SIGN OUT
when leaving the audition and rehearsal.




Audition: Wednesday 2/22 (2:40-4:00pm) OR Thursday 2/23 (2:40-4:00pm)

Dress Rehearsal: Wednesday, March 8th 2:45-5:15pm

Talent Show MAIN PERFORMANCE: Thursday, March 9th 6:00-8:00p.m.

I have read and agree to ALL of the Lang Ranch PTA Elementary Talent Show Rules and I give permission
for my child
to audition and participate in the show.
I understand that my child must attend the dress rehearsal or will be eliminated from the program. I
understand that because of time, a desire to have a variety of talents and groupings (individual,
partners, small groups), and grade levels represented during the showcase, not everyone who
auditions will be chosen to participate. Contestants will acknowledge there are risks associated with
this event, which include, but are not limited to personal injury, risk of loss or damage to personal
property. Contestants voluntarily enter the Lang Ranch PTA Elementary Talent Show and in doing so
assume all of these risks. Contestants upon entry of this show and upon signing this form hereby agrees
to waive and release Lang Ranch Elementary and all its board, directors, volunteers, sponsors, vendors
as well as any of their affiliates and successors from any liabilities of any kind arising from this event.
Contestant hereby swears that to the best of their knowledge they are physically and mentally fit to
perform in this event.
