Do you know that most people named José are nicknamed Pepe in Spain?
Etymologically, it derives from the name of San José (Saint Joseph, according to
the Christian tradition, was Jesus’ foster father). Every year Spaniards celebrate
Father’s Day on March 19, San José.
Next March 19, Spaniards are also celebrating the 200 birthday of their first
democratic constitution and one of the most liberal of its time. Popularly known as
La Pepa, the Spanish Constitution of 1812 was promulgated on March 19, 1812 by
the National Legislative Assembly of Spain in Cádiz, during the French-Spanish war.
The 1812 Constitution established the principles of universal male suffrage, national
sovereignty, constitutional monarchy and supported land reform, press freedom and
free trade. For further information, check: http://inter.uca.es/es/

teaching experience abroad with you:
“I have a video based ESL site that I would like to share as I think students
interested in teaching English abroad will find this quite useful. There are over 100
how-to videos and other resources for ESL teachers. There are loads of games,
activities and ideas for class. It focuses mostly but not exclusively on how to teach
English to children: http://eslinsider.com/how-to-teach-english-videos”
