Persephone; Missing in action!
Jocasta and her son/husband Oedipus walking around the mountains.
You can’t escape you destiny!
Hades dragging Persephone to the underworld so she can become his queen.
Just last week Persephone -daughter of Demeter and Zeus- was kidnapped. She was in a field one
day with her mother, and all of a sudden she disappeared leaving only the echo's of her screams
behind. Hades -god of the underworld- is the suspected criminal. Hades says “I was so struck by
love when I saw her, I knew she had to be my wife. I didn't care how she got to the underworld, I
just wanted her there.” in his defense. While Persephone was in the underworld with Hades she
had eaten some of his pomegranate. Demeter and Persephone were constantly together, and their
time spent apart caused both of them to be miserable. Demeter refused to let anything on Earth to
grow. Earth began to grow cold and barren. Once Zeus realized Persephone's absence was causing a disturbance all around he knew she must be reunited with her mother. Zeus demanded
Hades bring her back to Earth to rejoin her mother. Demeter states “I’m incredibly happy to be
with my daughter once more!” Earth flourished once more. While Hades was being questioned
he brought up the pomegranate Persephone ate. Persephone replied to the comment with “I’ll go
back each year for a few months to repay my debt.” Each year she did just that. Demeter was
unwilling to do almost anything during that time, but she was not so harsh this time for she taught
man how to harvest food when the weather gets cold and Earth is unable to produce anything.
The parents of an infant freak out
and abandon him after they hear
his destiny –to kill his father and
marry his mother– and they
thought they'd live life normally.
Many twists in fate bring us to
what recently happened. Oedipus–
the son of the parents– had killed
his father after all! He didn't know
it was his dad until later. If killing
your own father sounds bad, think
about marrying your mom. Yes,
you heard right Oedipus and Jocasta got married and had children!
We couldn't find anyone to interview about this strange love within
the family, seeing as they all ended
up dead. Even after so much tragedy, I guess no matter how hard you
try, you can’t escape your destiny!

Hephaestus in his workshop crafting new
bows for the gods and goddesses.
Zeus; Abusive father?
A few months ago we first reported on Zeus having an altercation with his son. We now have more details on this case.
Apollo a bystander says. “Everything was normal on Mount Olympus besides Hera and Zeus were little on edge” He
continues “They were beginning to argue and Hephaestus stepped in the middle of them.” Zeus then allegedly lost his
temper and hurled Hephaestus off Mount Olympus. Hephaestus survived by the help of Thetis. After everything cooled
down Zeus forgave him, and allowed Hephaestus back on Olympus. Hephaestus was now unable to walk without the
help of robots he built. Hephaestus states “I merely wish for peace” as he is a peace loving man, and doesn’t like disharmony. Hephaestus went back to his normal life -crafting jewelry, weapons, and other gifts for the other gods with
the help of his robots. All the gods are said to appreciate him greatly, and were offended when Zeus had been so cruel
to his own son. Hera told our reporter “Zeus isn’t usually remorseful, but after he hit Hephaestus he felt terrible. He
then apologized to him and allowed him back home.” Although Zeus apologized, he’s still in questioning because of
the brutal abuse.
Athena’s Answers
I need serious advice to help with my son Icarus. He
is always boasting, and bragging at any time he can.
He is nearly grown, yet still hasn't gotten out of this
state of mind. I was like this once, but I learned it was
wrong and I matured. Thanks Athena.
-Daedalus
Athena, the wise goddess in
charge of giving the best
advice for your tricky issues.
Well Daedalus, firstly you need to stop trying to help him constantly. He’s not a baby!
Icarus is nearly an adult, he needs to learn through his actions. It’s also partly your fault.
You too were very boastful too, yet you learned humbleness and thought more of others
rather than only being praised for your good works. Icarus too needs to learn how to be
humble. Being humble is the best advice I can give you, because he is almost grown he’ll
do what he wants. Icarus will learn through his actions. Whether the results of his actions are positive, or negative he’ll get what he deserves.
