Private Tastings
The Wine Society delights in organising and hosting private tastings. Our
events, hosted by a Wine Society Educator, are fun, informative and tailored
to your needs.
You can choose from a selection of event themes, from cheese and wine
matching to a blending masterclasses, catering for small sit-down groups
to large stand-up functions. Each theme can be adapted to different valued
packages.
The Wine Society Private Tastings are great for any special occasion:
birthdays, weddings, hen’s parties or ladies day’s, bachelor parties or
something to spice up your book club.
We can tailor the event and activity to your occasion, conducting it at a venue
of your choice or in The Wine Society’s purpose-built Vintec Tasting Room.
A wine tasting can be a fun affair for your family and friends, so make your
next special occasion an enjoyable event with a difference.

The Wine Society
The Wine Society was established in 1946. Dr Gilbert Phillips and a group
of wine loving friends shared a collective vision and passion to purchase and
distribute Australian table wine.
Over 65 years on, and now with over 40,000 Members Australia-wide, this
vision continues.
Our philosophy is to make available a broad quality selection of wines and
other beverages to members at the best possible prices; to advance wine
appreciation and knowledge and to promote and support excellence in the
wine industry.
We strive to be a recognised independent authority on wine matters in
Australia and to further develop a viable business enterprise that supports
these objectives in the interests of Members.

Event Themes
These are the different themes of our events. Each theme can be
matched to a different wine package to suit your budget.
Wine Basics
A two hour introduction to the basic concepts of wine appreciation, designed
for the busy professional. Wine Basics will inspire confidence in choosing wines,
speaking with a sommelier or impressing clients at the next lunch meeting.
Regional Awareness
Take a trip around Australia and New Zealand without leaving the comfort of
home. In this educational and fun tasting you will discover what regions excel
at which grape varietals and why.
Australia vs. International Competition
Can you tell a local favourite from an international hero? In this blind tasting
you will be asked to choose between wines of similar styles from Australia or
abroad. A great source of fun and debate that will generate some surprising
results.
Wine Options Game
Interactive, fun and not too tricky, wine options games are a great way to get
everyone involved at your wine tasting function. Multiple choice questions
keep everyone entertained, from wine novices to connoisseurs. Packages
include all required collateral and a prize for the overall winner or winning
team.
Cheese and Wine Matching
Cheese and wine are a match made in heaven and this is your opportunity
to learn about and enjoy savoury sensations. Australian and imported
products are tasted, in a formal or relaxed setting determined by you.
Champagne or Sparkling? (Premium wine package only)
Champagne, sparkling, bubbly, bubbles… What are you supposed to call it and
what is the difference? And is champagne really better than sparkling? You be
the judge in this fun and controversial tasting.

Wine Packages
These are our wine packages. Each package suits a different budget
and can be matched to an event theme of your choice.
Society Wine Package $35 per person
Using a selection of wines exclusive to The Wine Society portfolio, taste some
of the best wines in the country proactively sourced by our trading team from
reputable producers. This package includes a selection of the Society’s famous
own label wines plus outstanding examples from the Kettle Lane range.
Vineyard Wine Package $45 per person
The Vineyard Package is made up of a selection of well known entry level
wine brands, familiar to the everyday consumer. Learn to make an educated
decision next time you are choosing a wine.
Bouquet Wine Package $50 per person
Using a selection of quality mid-range wines, enjoy discovering wines for a
special occasion or to give as a gift. Learn what makes them stand out as being
different and how you can look like a wine connoisseur next time you are
invited to a dinner party.
Premium Wine Package $60+ per person (Wine selection dependant)
The Premium Package lets you discover a selection of high-end wines, familiar
names that you might want to start adding to your cellar or simply enjoy over
a delicious dinner with long time friends.

Wine Educator Profile
Anna Lee
Anna has a passion for fine wine, good food, and the excellent company they
encourage, as well as a profound knowledge of the vinified delights that await
you at your next Private Tasting.
As a Wine Educator for The Wine Society, Anna will introduce the details
of wine, how to appreciate aromas, the complex flavours of various grape
varieties and will help you expand your vocabulary for that upcoming dinner
party.
Anna Lee is exuberant and light-hearted and will make your event a delightful
evening enjoyed by all.

Wine Package Details
• All prices are GST inclusive.
• Events Packages cater for a minimum of 20 participants.
• Events can take place at The Wine Society Vintec Tasting Room in Sydney or
at your own venue.
• Packages include the services of a Wine Educator for 2 hours.
• Tasting of 7 different wines, varying depending on theme, often including:
 3 White Varieties
 3 Red Varieties
 1 Sparkling Wine and/or
 1 Mystery Wine and/or
 1 of Australia’s Best.
Optional extras
• Glass Hire @ $6 per stem
• Cheese Board (Selection of 6 Local and International Cheeses)
@ $11 per person
• Wine Educator – Additional Time @ $100 per hour
