To date, the Association has 32 members who collectively account for an estimated 70% of the total revenue generated by the entire interdependent broadcast and film sectors of the local scene. Among them are a distinctive few who had managed to garner local and international awards and accolades, and secure international distribution and sales for their outstanding productions. From BBC to Discovery Channel to National Geographic Channel, exceptional content produced by AIPRO members have been shown to audiences around the world. While Singapore has only one national broadcaster, but AIPRO members have managed to sail beyond our shores and create meaningful Asian content for international consumption. Our hallmark is our unique ability to harass local and regional stories and infuse them with strong universal appeal. Training Provider Details : Recognizing that new media platforms will increasingly emerge resulting from the integration of industries such as television, telecommunications and the internet, AIPRO, as a pragmatic and forward looking association has decided to extend its representation beyond just broadcast TV and film, but also other forms of media such as games and animation, amongst others (where appropriate and viable). As the representative body of the local independent production industry, AIPRO’s mandate includes providing a platform for its members and industry stakeholders to network and explore co-production opportunities, organizing overseas trade missions to showcase Singapore’s content development capabilities, promoting industry’s best practices, manpower upgrading and maintaining the all important bridge between media institutions and industry requirements. Additionally, through embedding elements of desired public values into local productions that are targeted at Singaporeans, the independent production industry also serves as a significant state apparatus in fostering a stronger, enduring Singaporean identity and social fabric, especially through those public TV programmes supported by the MDA. Recognising that the role of the Association has both economic and social significance, it is imperative that it is provided with sufficient resources so that it can drive its mandate in a more effective and efficient fashion. In this all-wired era, the production, consumption, and understanding of media and content creation are all important. From literature to film, from rock music to television programs - AIPRO, as the only professional body that looks into the broadcast and film sectors of our Singapore’s creative industry, is well positioned to lead our companies into the future and make a mark in this fast evolving knowledge economy.
