HOW IT WORKS
Carbonated Drinks
Dryice does not mix well with carbonated soft drinks or beer. The
vigorous bubbling action will de-gas the beverage.
Dryice is extremely cold at −78.5 °C (−109.3 °F). This is cold
enough to cause frostbite and requires safety precautions. Staff
should be trained to handle dryice with care and to always securely
close Mistystix capsules before serving to guests. Food-grade
dryice pellets are available in most cities. One pound of dryice
pellets can be enough to serve about 50 drinks. The challenge is
that dryice sublimates at a rate of five pounds per day in a cooler.
This means it's important to have dryice delivered as close as
possible to the time of use.
Non Diluting
Dryice is cold enough to chill beverages without the use of ice. Dryice will not water down or dilute drinks.
Safety
Dryice is −78.5 °C (−109.3 °F). This is extremely cold and can
cause frost bite if handled with bare hands or swallowed. Always
use tongs to handle dryice and ensure that dryice placed inside
Mistystix capsules are securely closed before being served.
Carbonation
Dryice is solid carbon dioxide (CO2). When placed in a liquid,
dryice will change from solid to gas. A majority of the gas will
bubble to the surface and create mist. A small amount of gas will
dissolve into the liquid; to create mild carbonation in the beverage,

The misty effect varies depending on the temperature of the
beverage. The colder the liquid the slower the dryice will be
dissolved. A hot beverage can produce spectacular results as the
