GENERAL CONDITIONS FOR LANGUAGE COURSES 1. One lesson lasts 45 minutes and a session is a minimum of 2 lessons. A 5 minute break can be taken if requested by the studen t / students. 2. Courses must be paid before the first lessons unless indicated otherwise in the terms of contract, at the time of enrolment. 3. Lessons must be taken within the year following the contract date or its extension. After this date, the school may allow the se lessons to be taken but is not obliged to do so. In this case the price is adapted to that of the following year. 4. Enrolment becomes definitive once the contract has been signed. 5. Courses begin and end on the agreed dates. Students will be informed of all public holidays at the beginning of the course 6. Unattended lessons cannot be refunded. 7. Use of our computer facilities may be offered as a complement to our courses . 8. Teachers are not permitted to discuss timetables with the student. All arrangements are to be made with management. The schoo l declines responsibility for any errors which may arise through this rule being disregarded. 9. If, in case of unforeseen circumstances, a student is obliged to interrupt the course for at least 3 weeks and/or is unable to co mplete the course, he or she may transfer the lessons to another person; request an extension of his contract or transfer the value of the remaining lessons to another inlingua school anywhere in the world. Failing these solutions, the school may, at the discretio n of the management, refund 80% of the remaining credit. 10. Enrolment, suspension of courses, book purchases etc. must be dealt with by reception staff . 11. Attribution of teachers to a particular course, which teacher or students in which group, the timetable, possible cancellatio n etc. comes under the jurisdiction of the management, who reserve the right to modify such courses as they may judge necessary. 12. Private Courses a) Lessons may be cancelled by phone if notice is received no later than 14h00 on the previous day (Friday 14h00 for Monday’s lessons), without loss of credit. This rule is final, even in unforeseen circumstances. b) Cancellation is valid only with confirmation from the school. c) Long term interruptions due to illness, holidays etc. are accepted with prior notice and are as stated in paragraph 3. 13. Semi-Private courses with 2 or 3 participants a) Courses start and end on the agreed dates. Students will be informed of all public holidays at the beginning of the course. b) Lessons can be cancelled for the entire group (see point 10a, 10b). c) Lessons cancelled by one student only cannot be replaced or reimbursed 14. Mini-Group (3-7 participants) et Group Classes (6-9 participants) a) A group course will start at the agreed date after confirmation by the school . b) Following the number of enrolments the amount of lessons may be adapted as follows: I. Intensive Course (20 lessons per week) 1 student = 5 times 60 minutes; 2 & 3 students = 5 times 90 minutes (2 lessons); 4 students = 5 times 135 minutes (3 lessons) 5 students and more = 5 times 180 minutes (4 lessons) II. Semi-intensive (3 x par week) 1 or 2 students = 3 times 60 minutes; 3 students = 3 times 90 minutes (2 lessons); 4 students et plus = 3 times 135 minutes (3 lesson) III. Semi-intensive (2 x par week) 1 student = 2 times 60 minutes; 2 et 3 students = 2 times 90 minutes (2 lessons) ; 4 students et plus = 2 times 135 minutes (3 lesson) IV. Evening Course (1 x par week) 2 or 3 students: 1 x 2 lessons; 4 students or more: 1 x 3 lesson V. Evening Course (2 x par week) 2 students: 1 x 2 lessons; 3 students or more: 2 x 2 lesson 15. If irreconcilable differences arise and legal steps are taken, Geneva shall be the place of jurisdiction HH 2017
