Students will have access to a panel of community experts (see schedule and following list) as a resource for creating their solution. Students are tasked with forming small companies, creating mission statements and logos, taking on specific business roles, and providing a cost-effective, efficient, and viable solution to this energy issue. The students will be judged on their use 21st Century Skills (Collaboration, Communication, Critical Thinking, and Creativity) in their endeavors. Challenge presentations will be given by the students to a panel of boardroom judges made up of community volunteers (see following list). Judges will assess the students’ presentation, team organization, and originality, along with the viability of their proposed solution to the energy challenge. The team selected by the judges will present their energy reduction plan to the whole school for implementation, and will then go on to compete in the city’s eFargo Partnership Energy Challenge tentatively scheduled for March (details TBA).
