2015 Year-in-Review
2015 brings major advancements to Keller
The City of Keller’s Economic Development staff,
the Keller Economic Development Board, and the
City Council work year round to serve the business
community and the citizens of Keller with the
overall goal to improve the quality of life for all.
The Year-in-Review report is designed to provide
a summary of activities and celebrate successes
from 2015. Some of the key accomplishments for
economic development in the City of Keller during
2015 include:
• Attracted 9 eateries, 19 professional offices, and
36 retail businesses to the Keller community. Among
these attractions are Amazing Hair Salon and
Desert Tree Studios in Old Town Keller; Pie Five Pizza
and Orange Theory Fitness in Keller Town Center;
Lash and Glow and Scooter’s Coffee in Keller
Crossing; Pickled Picasso and 9 Round Fitness in
Bear Creek Plaza; and many more.
• New projects were approved by City Council
that will create a positive impact on Keller. Sam’s
Club, the first big-box store to come to Keller since
2001, was approved in July. Also approved is a
public improvement project for Old Town Keller to
the west of Hwy. 377. The project will include a
promenade with public art, landscaping, seating,
and many more features for all to enjoy.
• The Keller Economic Development Board and
City staff continued to focus on the 97 acre
commercial corridor located at North Main Street
(Hwy. 377). A strategic plan for the corridor was
developed to position this area to be one of the
next commercial development focuses in Keller.
This study and the recommendations that rose from
the study, including a new zoning category for
Flex-Space to allow office and warehouse use,
were approved by City Council in September.
• In December, the City Council unanimously
approved a public-private partnership to open an
NCAA-sanctioned sports training and tournament
facility affiliated with both Nike and the AAU. The
70,000-squre-foot facility will be located in the
Keller Sports Park along Golden Triangle Boulevard
and will include six indoor basketball courts that
are convertible to 10 volleyball courts; eight pro
batting cages and pitching mounds; an indoor
half-football field; 50-yard indoor track; and fitness
and conditioning areas to be stocked with
top-of-the-line equipment and Athos training
technology.
Historic character will be tied into the Old Town Keller public
improvement project. Visitors will be welcomed by a
railroad tie entryway.

Enhancing our digital presence
A priority to the Economic Development team is to support and recognize
the current businesses in Keller. One way that we partner with the Keller
businesses is through the Keep It In Keller website. This past year was the first
full year for the newly designed website, which features a full listing of each
business in Keller, as well as business promotions, lunch specials, and
upcoming community events.
Developing a strong online presence was a strong focus throughout 2015. To support this initiative, the
Keep It In Keller Facebook page was created. The purpose of this Facebook page is to connect with
Keller businesses and share their business promotions, new products, and new services with the citizens
of Keller and surrounding communities.
In addition to the Keep It In Keller website and Facebook page, the Keller Shopping and Dining Guide
features many places to shop, eat, and obtain a variety of services. If you are not familiar with the
Guide, you can get your copy at local restaurants, offices, and City of Keller buildings. The Guide is also
available in a digital format at CityofKeller.com/ED.
