On July 18, 2012, See’s set the Guinness World Record for “World’s Largest Lollypop.” The lolly was made at the See’s lollypop factory at Burlingame, CA. It took 12 hours to cook and over a week to cool. It stood 16’7” tall, weighed 7,003 lb. and was chocolate flavored. The famous 1950s sitcom “I Love Lucy” filmed one of their most viewed episodes, “Job Switching,” at the La Cienega shop in Los Angeles. It aired on September 15, 1952. The first See’s Candy shop was established in 1921 at 135 Western Ave in Los Angeles, California by Mary See’s son Charles. All See’s shops feature a black-and-white décor resembling Mary See’s 1920s kitchen.
