Pie Chart Using Chnia Data

Pie Chart Using Chnia Data
1. Open Minitab Program.
1. Enter the data as shown.
2. Go to graph and choose “Pie Chart”
4. Dialog Box Items
Chart data in: Choose this button when each observation in the column represents an occurrence of a
category (or group). The categories can be either alpha or numeric. In this form, the pie chart contains a
slice that corresponds to the number of occurrences of each unique value in the column. Then select the
column containing the data you want to chart.
Chart table: Choose this button when the category names are in one column and frequency data for each
category in another.
Categories in: Select the column containing the categories.
Frequencies in: Select the column containing the counts for each category.
Order of categories: Click the arrow to the right and choose the order in which you want to display the
categories. See Pie chart slice orders.
Explode slice number(s): Enter the slice number(s) from 1, 2, ..., s (where s is the number of slices or
categories) to move one or more slices away from the center of the pie for emphasis. Slices are numbered
in the order they appear on the graph, beginning from the Start angle position and going counter-clockwise.
You can change the default order of slices with the Order of categories option.
Combine categories less than___% into one group: Specify a percentage. Slices with individual percentages
less than that percentage will be grouped into a category named Others. The Others category is always
placed last even when you specify a different Order of categories above. Combining characters changes the
assignment of slice numbers. Slice numbers are used when you explode slices (above) or specify fill types
and colors (under <Options>)
Start angle of first category: Specify the starting angle for the slices. By default, the angle is 0 degrees, and
slices start at the 3 o'clock position and go counter-clockwise. When you specify 90, slices start at the 12
o'clock position.
Title: To replace the default title with your own custom title, type the desired text in this box.

Bar Chart Using Chnia Data
1. Go to “Graph” and choose “Chart”
2. Dialog Box Items
Graph variables Defines the variables to be used in each graph. For a simple graph, just
fill in row 1 and click OK. To produce multiple graphs, or when overlaying graphs on the
same page (with Frame > Multiple Graphs > Overlay graphs), fill in more than one row
of the table. You can graph up to 100 pairs of columns.
Function: When you use two columns, the height of the bar is the sum of the observations
in the bar if you don't fill this in. You can, however, choose another function for the yvariable: see Changing the function for y-axis variables. Leave this blank if you only put
a variable in X.
Y: Enter a column containing data for the vertical axis on the graph.
X: Enter a column containing the categories or groups for the horizontal axis on the
graph.
Data display Defines the way data points look on the graph. After you select data display
elements, you can use <Edit Attributes> to change the default appearance of the points.
Display: Click the arrow to display points in any combination of the following: Area,
Bar, Connect, Project, and Symbol.
For each: Click the arrow to list the options. This lets you give a different appearance to
each graph, each group on a graph, or each point on a graph. See Displaying Data
Overview .
Group variables: Enter columns here only when you specify For Each > Group. Specify
from one to three grouping columns in the Group variables row. Group variables in charts
can only be the same as the X variable or the variables in Options > Cluster or Options >
Stack.
Click “OK”
