Fluid Running ® Ellis and Associates Lifeguard Course Get a great workout without the high impact of pavement in this invigorating deep water running class. You will challenge your cardiovascular system, enhance your stamina and strengthen your arms, legs and core. Each class will include a warm-up, moderate and intense interval workout, and a cool-down. Benefits include: No joint impact-Deep water running is completely non-weight bearing, therefore minimizing the stress on joints and muscles. Fast recovery from an injury-Hydrostatic pressure (pressure exerted on the body in deep water) increases circulation, flushes out metabolic waste (lactic acid) and reduces swelling from injury. Improved aerobic fitness-Running in the deep water increases blood flow to the heart by 30%. Done with intensity, maximum heart rate threshold can be reached. Full body workout¬Constant multi-directional resistance helps strengthen a variety of muscle groups – quadriceps, hamstrings, calves, biceps, triceps and core. Better land running results-Proper deep water running techniques can result in improved biomechanics for land running and often faster land running speed. More calories burned-Up to 40% more calories than running on land. (DL, KM) Learn lifeguarding rescues, CPR, first aid, supplemental oxygen support and AED implementation.
