Review Note III. Know your subjects by looking at the verb endings:
This is very important, because in every day Spanish verbs are used without the basic subjects. So you
can only know the subject by the verb ending, and by the context.

NOTES:
Tú* (You- for informal relationships)
Tú is used with people who you address by their first name:
your friends, family, children, etc.
Vd.** (You- for formal relationships)
Vd. is like saying, “You, sir OR You, ma’am”. It’s used with people who you address by
their last name - people with whom you use, Mr., Mrs, etc. :
Examples: a prime minister, a president, adults, new acquaintances, etc.

*NOTE (depending on the subject): SE= yourself (Vd.); himself , herself, yourselves, (Vds.) themselves, oneself.

Llamar = to call
(Yo)Llamo a Sally por teléfono.= I call Sally on the phone.
llamarse = to call oneself:
(Yo) Me llamo Sally.= My name is Sally. (I call myself Sally)
¿Cómo (Tú) te llamas?= What is your name? (What do yo call yourself?)
