Math – Fraction action is strong in our classroom. Students used
fraction strips for some hands on practice with fractions. Knowing
our multiplication facts is essential for success in calculating
fractions. Practice, practice, practice!
Reading/Language Arts – Our story next week is A Historic Journey. We
have also started the read aloud novel, SEEDFOLKS by Paul Fleishman. Due to
PARCC testing, we did not have a spelling test this week.
Social studies – How did Alaska and Hawaii become U.S. territories? Who
won the Spanish American War? These are questions that we learned the
answers to as we entered the 20th century.
Science – Our gardens are really growing!!!!
Please look over your child’s mid-term report with them. You
do not need to return the reports to me.
