President’s Thank You: On October 8, 2016, Think Dignity held its seventh annual Gala, Decade of Dignity: Celebrating 10 years of homeless advocacy and activism, at The Ultimate Skybox in downtown San Diego. Over 150 attorneys, public officials, community leaders, and other philanthropic supporters attended including Council President Pro Tem Marti Emerald, Councilmember David Alvarez, and Chief Deputy City Attorney Mara Elliott. Guests dined on sumptuous hors d'oeuvres from Authentic Flavors, Seasoned Catering & Events, seafood from Catalina Offshore Products, and cupcakes from Cupcakes Squared. Co-Founder of Think Dignity (formerly Girls Think Tank) Rachel Jensen kicked things off with a reflection on our journey to becoming a trusted voice for San Diego's homeless. Executive Director Anne Rios and outgoing President Emily Crowley spoke about Think Dignity's plans for the future. Keynote speaker and friend of our organization, David Stimers, bravely discussed his experience living on the streets and the impact Think Dignity has made on his life. We are pleased to announce that, with your support, we raised over $30,000 to sustain Think Dignity's ongoing mission to bring dignity to our neighbors without a home. Thank you to all of our sponsors, including but not limited to: Robbins Gellar Rudman & Dowd, Zeldes, Haeggquist & Eck, Banner Bank, Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman, Woodhill Trust, Advanced Attorney Services, Lauren & Paul Scott, Hyperion Construction, K. Purcell and L. Simon. Sustaining donor Sudberry Properties presented Think Dignity with the second of three annual $20,000 donations to help operate our Transitional Storage Center. In addition, Think Dignity received a grant of $15,000 from Kaiser Permanente for our new mobile Fresh Start Showers program. We also owe a debt of gratitude to those who gave generously during our general asks and bid well on our many live and silent auction items. As the incoming president of this incredible organization, I feel very honored to have spent the evening with so many people who recognize the importance of our work. I know we will accomplish great things together in 2017! If you were unable to attend our gala, or were inspired by our viral video to extend your support, please consider making an investment in Think Dignity and the future of San Diego at http://www.thinkdignity.org/donate-dignity. With Heartfelt Regards, Nicole Conge A Special Thanks to Our Gala Sponsors:
