Sacopee Valley Middle School June 18, 2014 Dear SVMS Grade 7 Student: Summer is a time to unwind, relax, and have quality family time. We appreciate all the hard work you completed this school year, but we don’t want it to go to waste or your learning to regress over the summer. Therefore, we have put together this packet for summer assignments. We will continue our summer reading program for a third year. We are requiring that you read four books this summer from the reading list provided to you in this packet. There are plenty to choose from and I’m sure will meet your interest. The library will be open from 8am to noon on Tuesday’s in July to pick out a new book and drop of the ones you’ve read. Each of the town libraries have a copy of our summer reading choices, so you can ask your librarian for suggestions. Also enclosed you will find math sheets for you to complete. When you complete the packet you can drop it off in the office or bring it when you return on the first day of school. Again, we are proud of all the hard work everyone has completed this year. This packet will ensure you maintain your skills over the summer while still having plenty of time for cookouts, swimming, hanging out with friends, or simply sleeping in. Completing this work will have you ready next fall to start off where you left off and have another wonderful school year. It will be expected that this packet will be turned in by the 1st day of school, August 27th. This is a graded assignment that all teachers will be grading for the 1st quarter of the 2014-2015 school year.
