DISABLED FACILITY LOAN WHO ARE WESSEX HOME IMPROVEMENT LOANS? Wessex Home Improvement Loans (WHIL) is the trading name of Wessex Resolutions C.I.C., a Community Interest Company working in partnership with local authorities across the South West of England. WHIL offers financial assistance, including a “DISABLED FACILITIES LOAN”. This new scheme is designed to assist clients to make essential adaptations to their property so that they, or someone they support and care for, can live as independently as possible in their own home. SECURITY & RISK All loans are secured by an equitable mortgage on the property. It is also registered at the Land Registry, meaning that the property cannot be sold or change ownership without the WHIL loan being repaid. THE PROCESS WHAT DO I NEED TO DO TO APPLY? After you have contacted your Local Authority and requested a visit from WHIL One of our Advisers will contact you in the next few days to arrange an initial visit. They will provide you with more information about the different types of loans and the repayment options available to you. They will make a financial assessment to ensure you have sufficient disposable income for the loan. This is very important because you must not commit yourself to a loan you cannot afford. The Loan Adviser will explain and guide you through the next stages of the process. They will help you to complete the application form and keep you informed at all times of the progress of your application. Please note: Further details of these schemes are available on request from your Local Council. Depending on your Local Authority Policy, not all schemes may be available in your area. IMPORTANT: YOUR HOME MAY BE REPOSSESSED IF YOU DO NOT KEEP UP REPAYMENTS ON A MORTGAGE OR ANY OTHER DEBT SECURED ON IT.
