Knog Launches
the No Ordinary Night
Film Contest
Not known for doing things by halfs, global accessories brand Knog has geared up to launch a film comp
like no other. An online film contest and 24hr global film festival championing those nocturnal adventures
in the dark (think GoPro but at night). The comp’s format is completely unique in that the winning films are
screening across the entire globe in one night. With 7 different countries hosting viewing parties, over 24
hours it’s a global night film comp whose finale is truly a global night of film.
With over US $15,000 worth of prizes up for grabs, Knog are on the hunt for the best night-time adventure
video-makers. Bike, skateboard, surf, dive Knog want to see it. Entrants are encouraged to use action cams
plus a Knog light – whether that’s one of their video lights or even a bike light – but this is not a mandatory
criteria. Knog are more interested in letting people flex their creative muscle when it comes to night time
film-making.
To judge all this creative content Knog have hand-picked a panel of 3 esteemed judges from the film and
creative industries for the comp. Mat Cotye Editor of Rolling Stone (and Empire), Ben Welsh M&C Saatchi and
Hugo Davidson Knog CEO will lend their year’s of experience to reviewing all submitted videos.
Hugo Davidson Knog CEO said “Deciding to run a film comp celebrating those heroes of the night, those
guys who are out there smashing the mould and creating awe-inspiring action videos in the dark seemed
like an absolute no brainer to us. And having just released the [qudos] action light for GoPro this is a perfect
opportunity to do something and celebrate. ”
The No Ordinary Night film contest runs from 2nd March to 24th May with the global film festival on June 6th.
With some seriously cool prizes up for grabs from brands such as Burton, Rapha, Levi’s, CamelBak, Timbuk2,
