Criteria and weighting
The academic committee has created a list of weighted criteria to prioritise the applications
received. Applications must be accompanied by a curriculum vitae that describes the candidate's
merits in relation to these criteria and by the corresponding accrediting documentation.
The criteria for prioritising the applications will be based on the tangible results obtained during the
doctoral degree, which will be reflected by publication in indexed journals, papers given by the
applicant to conferences or international scientific meetings, periods spent with international
research groups, European or international distinctions, grants obtained through competitive
competitions and other merits.
1. Publications in journals (50%)
o Bibliometric data will be used to take into account the number of publications and
quality of the journals:
 publications in the first decile, 50 points is the candidate is the first author.
 publications in the first quartile, 30 points if the candidate is the first author.
 publications in the second quartile, 10 points if the candidate is the first
author.
o If the candidate is the second author, 60% of the previously specified points will be
awarded. If the candidate is the third or subsequent author, a maximum of 25% of

The maximum points for this item will be assigned to the candidate who obtains the
highest score on the scale. The scores for the other candidates will be adjusted
accordingly.

6. Other merits [5%)
o Among others, unindexed publications and book contributions will be considered.
