Border Cup - EWGA-GTA Victorious!
The 2013 Border Cup was contested at Shepherd's Hollow Golf Club in Clarkston, MI the weekend of August
16 and 17, and the EWGA-GTA team came away victorious! Our 20-member team did the Chapter proud,
beating the Metropolitan Detroit chapter by 42 points over the 10 best-ball matches. The Lady is back where
she belongs. Congratulations ladies and we look forward to a successful defence here on home soil in 2014!

Autism Ontario would like to thank Alison Munro, Aline Brunet and the members of the GTA Chapter of the
Executive Women’s Golf Association, for selecting us as the recipient of funds raised from your annual
President’s Cup Charity Tournament, held August 10th at Eagle Ridge Golf Club. The weather was glorious –
sunny, but not too hot – and it was a delight to have an opportunity for us to be included in the golf, the fun
activities, and in the dinner. It is our hope that each of you who attended left with a better understanding of what
autism is, and the personal and profound impact it has on more than 125,000 families across Ontario. Certainly
the recent incident involving a family in Newcastle that hit the media, showing a lack of understanding and
hostility in their own community, means our work is far from over.
Autism Ontario celebrates its 40th anniversary this year, and we continue to be the largest collective voice in
Ontario representing the voices of these families. October is autism awareness month in Canada, and I hope
you will pause and think about us.
Thank you again for the funds you helped raise, which amounted to just over $4,000. You can continue to stay

for the remainder of the 2013 season – please check the Member Courses page for details.

If you have ever thought to put your passion for golf into volunteering for the EWGA GTA Chapter, well now is
the time.
The Chair Positions open for next year are Player Development Director and Members Course Director –
