SNACKS&LUNCHFROMHOME
Studentsarenotpermittedtobringlargebagsofsnackchipsforlunchorasnackatschool.Oftentheseitemsgetsharedbymany
studentswhichcanpromotethespreadofillness.Hudsonalsohasmanystudentslistedwithfoodallergies.Studentsaresometimes
unawareofthepotentialharmofsharingfood.
Parentsshouldalsorememberthatanybirthdaytreatsmustbedistributedatthestudent’slunchtimebyaparent.Allfooditems
mustalsomeetthenutritionalguidelinesfoundonpage30oftheFamilyHandbook.
CHILD FIND – This is a required notification to all district families.
Allstatesreceivingfederalmoneymusthaveinplacepoliciesandproceduresforlocating,screening,evaluating,andserving
studentswithdisabilities.Thisincludesstudentsfrombirththrough21yearsofage.
Childrenwhoarenotabletospeakclearly,displayageappropriatemotorskills,learnattherateoftheirpeers,hearorseeattheir
ageappropriatedevelopmentallevel,oruselanguagesimilartothatoftheirageappropriatepeers,maybeeligibletoreceivean
educationpriortoenteringkindergarten.
Inanefforttoidentifypreschoolagestudents,TD3conductsfreescreeningsuptoeighttimesayear.Eachcampusreceivesalistof
thescreeningdatesatthebeginningoftheschoolyear.Additionally,priortoeachscreening,noticesaresentoutregarding
screeninglocations,dates,andtimestoTD3campuses,privateschools,charterschools,hospitals,clinics,andpediatriciansinthe
TD3area.Theprocedureincludesscreeningbycertifiedstaffintheareasofspeechandlanguage,cognition,adaptivebehavior,
vision,hearing,andwhennecessary,grossandfinemotorareas.TheWoodcock-Munozlanguageassessmentisalsoconductedif
needed.Childrencanbescreenedat2.9yearsofage.
IfaparentalreadyhasrecordsfromDDD,AzEIP,oranotherserviceagency,wereviewthereportstodetermineiffurtherscreening
orevaluationisnecessary.Oncethescreeningprocessiscompleted,astheparentcompletesthecheckoutprocedure,theyare
notifiedifamorecomprehensiveassessmentisrecommended.Ifanevaluationiswarrantedinanyorallareas,theevaluation
takesplacewithin60calendardaysaftertheparenthasgivenpermission.
