This program is suitable to personnel who work in industries
that use, handle or transport dangerous and hazardous
substances.

course overview
The Hazardous Materials (HAZMAT) Awareness course
is designed to give participants knowledge of hazardous
materials, how to recognise them, how to handle them and
identify the effects they can have upon the environment.
This course includes:
• Introduction to Hazardous Materials
• Properties of Hazardous Materials
• Health Risks and effects of Hazardous Materials in the
Environment
• Recognition and Identification of HAZMAT incidents
• Risk Management
certification
This is a non accredited training program. Upon successful
completion of the program, participants will be issued with a
Statement of Attendance.

Training programs can be conducted at one of the
Queensland Fire and Emergency Services purpose built
facilities or at your own premises (if suitable).
additional information
Additional Costs may be added at the time of invoicing,
including:
• A 15% surcharge may apply if training is delivered
outside normal business hours (Mon-Fri 7:30am –
5:30pm)
• An additional per participant rate may be charged if
more than 12 participants attend a program (contact
QFES-TEM for current rate)
• A charge covering travel and accommodation if the
trainer needs to travel from a major centre
