package is available to undergraduate
and postgraduate students and is full of
great products to help you to get exactly

Whether it’s instant access to cash at home and

with a Bank of Ireland 3rd level student package.
To apply for a loan, credit card, savings or current
account, lending criteria, terms and conditions will
apply. You must be 18 or over. We may require a
guarantee from your parent or guardian. Full details of
any guarantee required will be provided in advance.
You must be able to prove you are a full time student
on a third level course (being a full time post graduate
or a full time student on your second primary degree
will work too). Terms and conditions apply.
3rd Level Student Account
Our 3rd level student account offers you a range of
options including 365 Online, Mobile Banking and a
Visa Debit Card which allows you to access your cash
whenever you need it.
With a 3rd level student current account, you will also
not be charged quarterly transaction or maintenance
fees however if you use your Debit/ATM card abroad,
there may be charges. For details on the fees and
charges that apply please refer to the Schedule of
Fees and Charges for Personal Customers brochure
available in our branch or online.

Visa Debit Card
A Visa Debit Card and our online banking facilities will
allow you to access cash whenever you need it, top
up your mobile and manage your day-to-day banking.
Visa Debit Cards are liable for annual Government
Stamp Duty, currently €5 (€2.50 for Visa Debit Card
usage and €2.50 for ATM usage).
Student Credit Card
If you decide that a credit card would suit your
lifestyle, then talk to us about getting a student credit
card. It’s easy to apply for and subject to approval,
you get an immediate credit limit of €500 and free
worldwide multi-trip travel insurance. What’s more
with our fantastic introductory offer you’ll pay 0%
interest on purchases for the first 6 months*.
*After 6 months from the date of account opening standard interest
will apply to purchases the details of which are outlined in the rates
section below.
Lending criteria term & conditions apply to all credit cards. Credit
cards are subject to Government stamp duty of €30. Credit cannot
be offered to anyone under 18 years of age. Student current account
and credit card must be held for the duration of any trips to be
covered for travel insurance.
Interest Free Student Loan
Need help with back to college costs, such as paying
for books or buying a laptop? If you are a Bank of
Ireland 3rd level customer you can apply for a 3rd
level interest free student loan which allows you to
borrow up to €1,500. This is a repayment loan with
the option to defer the first 3 months repayments.
The maximum term of the loan is 12 months.
Standard Student Loan
The standard student loan is a multi-purpose loan for
students and it is available to all faculties. Students
can borrow up to €10,000 over a 5 year period. Talk
to us today about a student loan for your first car, car
insurance or that laptop you really want. Standard
student variable rate of 9.7% APR. The standard student
loan is available to 3rd level Bank of Ireland customers.

The following representative example will give you an
indication of the cost of a student loan:
ff Student loan of €10,000 over 60 months. Based
on a variable rate of 9.7% APR
ff Repayments €209.18 per month
ff Total cost of credit €2,550.80
APR stands for Annual Percentage Rate. Lending
criteria, terms and conditions apply
Warning: If you do not meet the repayments on
your loan, your account will go into arrears. This
may affect your credit rating, which may limit
your ability to access credit in the future.
