CONSENT FORM
This form is to certify that the undersigned is a willing participant in the Thurgood Marshall Summer Law Internship
Program at the New York City Bar Association and that the participant has the consent of his or her parent or legal
guardian if the participant is less than 18 years of age. By signing this form, the participant verifies that he or she has read
and understands the following requirements of the program:

All interns will be required to work in the manner prescribed by the administrators of the Thurgood Marshall
Program. Students will arrive at work and events on time. They will treat their employers with the utmost respect
and any problems that arise on or off the job will immediately be brought to the attention of the Program
Director.
In conjunction with their work experience, all interns will attend a series of evening events to be held at
various locations throughout New York City. These events will begin with an opening reception at the end of
June and conclude with a closing ceremony in August 2016. Specific dates will be provided as they become
available. Interns will be responsible for their own transportation to and from these events and will be expected
to arrive promptly and be dressed in professional attire.
All interns must be able to work legally within the United States. It is the intern’s duty to provide any
forms of identification or employment eligibility documentation his or her employer may request.
Neither the Thurgood Marshall Program nor the New York City Bar will act as chaperone for any student to or
from work; however, all evening events will be administered by a member of the Thurgood Marshall Program
staff.
